Over 200 Dubai Educators Awarded the Golden Visa

Over 200 Dubai Educators Awarded the Golden Visa

10.10.2025 07:48

More than two hundred educators from Dubai’s private schools, universities, and early learning centers have been granted the prestigious Golden Visa in recognition of their outstanding contribution to education and the community.

The initiative to award Golden Visas to exceptional teachers was first announced last year by His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai, on the occasion of World Teachers’ Day, celebrated annually on October 5. The program aims to support and reward outstanding educators whose work helps shape the future of Dubai and inspire the next generation.

“Teachers and educators are those who light the way forward. They inspire, guide, and give our children the confidence and skills they need to succeed. Supporting teachers is the best investment in Dubai’s future,” said His Highness Sheikh Hamdan.

The Golden Visa is a long-term residency permit in the UAE valid for ten years, designed for foreign professionals who have made significant contributions in key sectors, including education. Beyond long-term residency, the visa offers holders several benefits such as family sponsorship, tax advantages, and enhanced access to healthcare and public services.

In the first phase of the program, 223 educators out of 435 applicants were granted the Golden Visa — representing 51% of the total number of submissions. Among the recipients were 157 school teachers and staff, 60 university professors, and 6 early childhood educators.

The selection process was based on a set of merit-driven criteria, including professional achievements, academic publications, contributions to school and community development, and positive feedback from students and parents. Factors such as nationality, gender, or years of experience were not taken into account to ensure a fair and transparent evaluation.

The Golden Visa program for educators aligns with Dubai’s Education 33 (E33) strategy, which aims to position the emirate as one of the world’s leading destinations for education professionals. The initiative also supports Dubai’s vision to attract outstanding teaching talent from around the globe and to foster a vibrant, high-quality learning community.

“By awarding the Golden Visa to exceptional teachers, we demonstrate how deeply Dubai values knowledge, integrity, and service to society. Our schools will always be places where the future takes shape and where the next generation can realize its potential,” said Sheikh Hamdan.

The second application phase for the Golden Visa will open on October 15, 2025, and run until December 15, 2025. Eligible applicants include educators working in private nurseries, schools, and international higher education institutions across Dubai.

Further details about eligibility criteria and the application process are available on the official website of the Knowledge and Human Development Authority (KHDA).
