About the Bishopstrow College

Bishopstrow College is a specialized international boarding college, whose main mission is to prepare foreign students aged 7-17 for successful entry into leading British boarding schools. The college was founded with a clear goal - to help international students overcome language and academic barriers. The uniqueness of Bishopstrow College lies in its narrow specialization: it is not just a school, but a preparatory center accredited by the British Council and a member of English UK. The educational philosophy of the college is based on the principles of intensive language immersion, academic adaptation, and cultural integration. The main focus is on learning English as a second language (ESL), as well as mastering the British curriculum in key subjects such as mathematics, natural sciences, and humanities. A unique practice is the individual study plan for each student, which is developed based on their level of preparation and goals (admission to a specific school). Small classes (on average 6-8 students) ensure personal attention. The main goals of the institution include developing students' confidence in using the English language, preparing them for necessary exams (e.g. UKiset), cultivating skills for independent work and living in a boarding school, which is key to successful integration into a British school. Bishopstrow College has an excellent reputation among British private schools, and its graduates successfully enter institutions such as Sherborne School, Marlborough College, Badminton School, and many others.

My husband and I chose the option of schools where our children of 8 and 14 years old could go together for the preparatory program. We could not find an option for the younger child, the older one was taken almost everywhere, but there were problems with the younger one because of the very weak English =(many schools simply could not accept it with such a level. At the Smapse exhibition, we met Bishopstrow, they said that they specialize in programs for children with weak English and about the miracle accept children from 7 years old. They looked at the curriculum for the elder and junior. That's all, at first glance, I was satisfied, we decided to enroll. I want to thank Ildar (our manager) for organizing the enrollment process! We were satisfied. The kids loved college. Despite the fact that the children went to school together, they were very worried about the younger one that he would not be able to adapt and would not pull the program. But fortunately, in 2 months he was able to get involved, the results became better, and he said that he was already beginning to understand more. The result: during the year of the program, children were able to prepare for admission to a rating school in England!

My son went to Bishopstrow for a trial trimester. We planned to send it to a private school in England after the 9th grade, so we wanted to prepare it in advance. When he started his studies at Bishopstrow, he began his studies in the 8th grade, and the school could let him go for a maximum of 3 to 4 months. I want to say that the program really helped us a lot. The child had frankly bad English, in the Russian school he had fours in English, but we, of course, understood that this was not the level that was required there. During the program, the child was able to improve English by almost 2 points. I liked that they sent a very detailed report on Vanya's progress with comments and recommendations. We then used this when applying to private schools for permanent training. According to the living conditions, everything was pretty decent. The son lived in a room with 1 other boy from Germany. On nutrition, like, everything was also normal, I did not complain.

In 2019, my daughter went to this school in a summer camp to study English. In short, I can say that this is a really good school. My daughter spoke very well of the teachers and staff who worked at the school. I liked that after the end of the program they sent a detailed report on academic performance, where each teacher gave detailed recommendations, it is nice that so much attention is paid to each child.

I want to leave feedback about the summer program. I really liked that the program lasts 5 weeks and includes the study of school subjects, in addition to just English. There were not a few Russians, but there was a child with 2 students from Europe, who had been going to this program for several years. The college itself is not very large, located in the south-west of England. When we looked at the maps, it seemed that it was far from London, but in fact the child arrived by school transfer for 1.40, and excursions there were regularly organized. P.s (the camp is more about training than about recreation)
