Mohamed bin Zayed University of Artificial Intelligence (MBZUAI) is a pioneering graduate-level university established in 2019 in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates. It is the first university in the world dedicated exclusively to the field of artificial intelligence. Named after His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, the university was founded as part of the UAE's vision to become a global leader in AI and technological innovation. The institution was officially licensed in March 2020. The university offers Master’s and Ph.D. programs in three core areas: Machine Learning, Computer Vision, and Natural Language Processing. In 2025, MBZUAI launched its first undergraduate degree – a Bachelor of Science in Artificial Intelligence – with two tracks: AI for Engineering and AI for Business. MBZUAI has rapidly established itself as a global research leader in AI, with hundreds of high-impact publications and partnerships with prominent international research labs and organizations.
