Admission conditions in The Johns Hopkins University

Admission to Johns Hopkins is extremely competitive. The admissions committee is looking for not only academically strong students, but also those who possess a research-oriented mindset, intellectual curiosity, and a desire to make an impact on the world. Required exams: SAT or ACT (test-optional policy may vary). For non-native English speakers: TOEFL (100+), IELTS (7.0+), or Duolingo English Test (120+). Minimum age requirement: 16-17 years old (admission to the undergraduate program after completion of high school). Application process: Applications are submitted through Common Application or Coalition Application. The application fee is $70 (fee waivers are available). Educational qualifications: High school diploma or equivalent. Required documents: Completed application, essay, two teacher recommendations, transcript, school counselor report, standardized test scores (if applicable). Requirements for international students: High level of English proficiency. All academic documents must be translated into English. Proof of financial support is required. Financial conditions: International students must fill out the International Student Certification of Finances form to obtain an I-20 visa. The university offers limited financial aid to international students. Application deadlines: Early Decision I – November 1; Early Decision II – January 4; Regular Decision – January 4.
