About the UDIT — UNIVERSIDAD DE DISEÑO, INNOVACIÓN Y TECNOLOGÍA

UDIT is a private Spanish university with face-to-face and online education, officially recognized by the Ministry of Universities of Spain (Ministerio de Universidades). It is the first and only university in Spain fully specialized in design, innovation, and technology. The university is the culmination of a more than 20-year educational project of the prestigious design school ESNE. On February 17, 2022, the Madrid Assembly granted the institution permission to become a private university, and as of 2023, the institution officially became known as UDIT - Universidad de Diseño, Innovación y Tecnología, completely breaking away from UCJC and starting to issue official diplomas independently. The campus occupies more than 21,000 square meters in three buildings in the Chamartín district of Madrid; in the 2024-2025 academic year, a new separate campus (over 7,000 square meters) opened for fields of technology, innovation, and applied sciences - with laboratories for robotics, artificial intelligence, and virtual reality. The university has more than 3000 students. UDIT and its students have received over 400 national and international awards, including the National Design Award (Premio Nacional de Diseño) presented by the King and Queen of Spain in 2020. The university has been an official sponsor of Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Madrid for many years.

Admission conditions in UDIT — UNIVERSIDAD DE DISEÑO, INNOVACIÓN Y TECNOLOGÍA

The university is authorized to award official (state-recognized) bachelor's (Grado), master's (Máster), and doctoral degrees in all of Spain; also authorized as a professional education center (Formación Profesional, center number 28076459). Admission requirements vary depending on the specific program. General access is regulated by Spanish legislation (Article 3 of Real Decreto 412/2014) - for most creative disciplines (such as video game design, animation, etc.), a specific high school bachelor's degree (bachillerato) is not required - all programs start "from scratch," without prior knowledge of programming, graphic editors, etc. However, for creative disciplines, it is recommended (but not obligatory) to have a high school education in art or science and technology. The entrance exam for most bachelor's programs is a test of creative abilities (prueba de aptitud creativa, including artistic drawing) and a test of basic knowledge of video tasks; the goal is not to screen out applicants but rather to accurately determine the applicant's level of preparation for personalized approach. For master's programs, the entrance exam is an interview with the director of the postgraduate education program. Certain bachelor's programs are available in a bilingual format (Spanish/English): interior design, multimedia and graphic design, fashion management and communication - to apply for these tracks, confirmation of an English level of at least B2 and a personal interview in English with the bachelor's program coordination are additionally required. Places are allocated in a strict order of application upon notification of acceptance.
