Since its founding as the Collegiate School, the institution has come a long way in development, becoming one of the most influential centers of higher education in the world. In 1718, the university was renamed in honor of the British philanthropist Elihu Yale, whose support played a significant role in its early development. Over the course of more than three centuries of existence, Yale has played a crucial role in the American educational system, producing numerous Nobel laureates, U.S. presidents, and leading scientists such as William Howard Taft, George Bush, Bill Clinton, and many others. Yale University's educational philosophy and approaches to teaching are based on the principles of liberal education, focusing on the development of critical thinking, intellectual independence, and overall personal growth. The university emphasizes interdisciplinary research, combining science, art, and humanities to deepen understanding of the world. Yale is known for its commitment to the concept of "interactive learning," where students actively participate in the educational process through discussions, seminars, and research projects. The university also promotes flexibility in education, offering students the opportunity to study a wide range of subjects before choosing a specialized area. The role and significance of the educational institution in the Yale University educational system hold leading positions in the global education system and consistently rank among the top 10 best universities in the world according to rankings such as QS World University Rankings and Times Higher Education. As part of the Ivy League, Yale sets high standards in education, scientific research, and public engagement, serving as a model for many other institutions. Yale University has a significant impact not only on the American but also on the global education system. Its graduates hold key positions in international organizations, government structures, business, and science, highlighting the global scale of influence of this educational institution.
